In recent years, VIMC and MSC have cooperated in the operation and development of Vietnam's seaport infrastructure. MSC is the world's leading container shipping company with offices in 155 countries and a fleet connecting 500 seaports around the world. The annual transportation volume is about 23 million TEUs, and it has about 60 seaports around the world, with an annual development capacity of more than 30 million TEUs. MSC is currently VIMC's customer and strategic partner. The two parties have conducted preliminary research to lay the foundation for cooperation in the Qinye International Transshipment Port.

Currently, Saigon Port Joint Stock Company and MSC are speeding up the research progress and propose to develop an international container transshipment port in Can Tho area that can berth 250,000 DWT mother ships. The main terminal is about 6.8 kilometers long and covers an area of ​​about 570 hectares. The project has a designed throughput capacity of 15 million TEUs and a total investment of more than 850 million US dollars. (over)
